mmmkay, so...
Sean got here around 7 on Thursday evening. I was fairly exhausted from the bout of insomnia that hit me on Wednesday night. Thusly, Thursday was fairly unremarkable...we ate dinner at Boston Market and watched Saved. I love that movie. We went to sleep pretty early so that we could get an early start Friday morning for a trip to Yosemite.
Getting an early start didn't go exactly as planned, but it worked out ok. We stopped for supplies (lunch) in Oakhurst, hit the Mariposa grove of giant Sequoias, and finally arrived in Yosemite Valley in the afternoon. My DNC connections got us free tickets for the valley floor tour. The bus smelled funky, but the tour was OK. We moseyed around Yosemite Village for awhile and stopped off to see Bridalveil Falls on our way out. Next time I'm hiking the Vernal/Nevada Falls trail dang it!
We stopped for dinner in Oakhurst. Oka was sooo much better than Boston Market! We shared sushi and a seafood noodle bowl thingie. After dinner I felt a food coma coming on, so we came straight back home and watched Love Actually. After that I was quite giddy...I really love that movie.
We wasted some more time sleeping.
Yesterday we slept in. It was glorious. It was right around this time that my dad found it necessary to instruct me in the ways of turkey roasting. Yeah, so after that happened, we went to Fresno. The dog was all scruffy looking, so we dropped him at Petsmart to get groomed, then caught the 3:10 showing of The Incredibles. It was fantastic! We were back around 6:30/7 for Thanksgiving Dinner (it came early this year because mom and dad are leaving us for a "vacation" to Ohio). Dinner was good, we got a little boozed out. Some other stuff happened, then sleep again.
This morning really sucked. My alarm went off at 6:27. We were out of the house early enough to get coffee together before I had to be at work. It was tough to part ways, but we'll be seeing more of each other soon I'm sure. Among my words of farewell was the phrase "we'll always have IM." Lame.
Work sucked, but I got to the point of Atlas Shrugged. More than halfway done now...still like it.
